Effective catechesis needs to include plenty of opportunity for young people to ask and explore their authentic questions. That’s the premise behind a new “conversational catechesis” offering at Benilde-St. Margaret’s School in St. Louis Park, MN. Writing in America Magazine (Nov. 23, 2018), BSM campus minister and theology teacher Becca Meagher and junior high principal Claire Shea describe the curriculum, which prioritizes “critical thinking and moral development” over “rote memorization and inaccessible vocabulary.”
