Disaffiliation and Catholic culture was the subject of a recent podcast by Catholic School Matters Radio Hour. Among those interviewed was John Vitek, president and CEO of Saint Mary’s Press and coauthor of Going, Going, Gone: The Dynamics of Disaffiliation in Young Catholics (2017). Also interviewed in the 90-minute podcast were Dr. Julie Rubio, who discusses Amoris laetitia (The Joy of Love), the encyclical by Pope Francis on the Church’s role in marriage, family life, and disaffiliation, and Dr. Patrick Manning, author of “Disintegrating Worldviews and the Future of Catholic Education: Addressing the Deep Roots of Catholic Disaffiliation,” in the Journal of Catholic Education.
